How it works
We operate as a traditional auction house and reach out to a wider audience through our virtual sale room using the-saleroom.com. You are guaranteed a worldwide audience of dedicated buyers who are searching for what you want to sell.

Timed-Auctions-the-saleroom.com Logosmaller

* Very quick turnaround times on items for sale. from June 2016 we will be able to run 2-4 auctions a month online, live with an auctioneer. We can accept entries at fairly late notice if we have space and we can run catalogues bespoke to one vendor - so if you have a great collection of something we will put a catalogue up just for your lots..

We offer
at least one full week of online catalogue viewing prior to each sale - giving buyers the maximum chance of leaving bids

We provide lots of photography for your item to enable bidders to get a clear idea of the item and to be confident in bidding.

* No minimum commission charges for vendors or buyers

* We can help with collecting your items for auction. Want to consign but not near the Cotswolds? Not a problem. We have couriers on the road the length and breadth of the UK. See COLLECTION section below.

* We pay vendors efficiently and quickly, bank transfer is used where the vendor has supplied us with details, payments are made usually within 21 days of the sale unless there has been a delay with a bidder, but we would keep you informed of any bidder issues.

* We can pack and ship many items worldwide - at excellent competitive rates. Bidders can always check with us prior to bidding if an item can be shipped. We also operate motorway point collection and drop off points throughout each month

* We are online, but real people! Our offices are in Cirencester, Gloucestershire and we have a collections point close to Stroud town centre with easy access free parking.

Stage 1
Contact our saleroom (see contact box lower right), or email us on sales@stagauctions.co.uk with images and description of the item(s) you wish to consign (see “photograph” notes below)..

Stage 2
Our experts will assess your item(s) and get back to you with an advised auction estimate / potential reserve price and, if appropriate, an invitation to consign for the next suitable auction.

Stage 3
If you wish to consign it tell us, and we will arrange what date you can get the item to us so we can sign it in.  You can courier items to us or arrange to meet us at our warehouse near Stroud to hand items over, or we may be able to meet you at one of our motorway network regualr stops.. The 2.00 + vat (total 2.40) per lot lotting & online entry fee (and the charge for loss or damage liability) is deducted from your final remittance, after the sale.

We may be able to help with collection - see COLLECTION (on the right). We have our own vans and couriers on the road throughout the UK and frequently throughout Europe.

Stage 4
We will be in touch a few days after the sale to advise the sale results. Following successful sale of your goods, your payment will be sent via bank transfer, or if you prefer by cheque, once the buyers have cleared funds with Stag Auctions. For any items unsold we can discuss your preferences.

If your items fail to sell, and if our auctioneer team feel the lot is worth a second chance, they will offer you a re-entry into the next sale (subject to a second lotting fee) but you will need to discuss a drop in the reserve price. Alternatively, you may arrange to take the item back.

If emailing, they should fully cover the item with close-ups where applicable (maximum six photos per item and in jpeg format, ideally 640 x 480 pixels) please send them to sales@stagauctions.co.uk. Tell us everything you know about your item: condition, background/history, provenance, etc.

Sellers commission: the commission rate is

15% plus VAT (and a 2+vat lotting fee per lot per auction... so 2.40). Loss and damage liability aceptance by us for your items is 1.5% of hammer price (or reserve if unsold)
Example charge in an auction:
If your lot achieves a hammer price of, say, 50 then your commission charge will be 15%, which is 7.50 plus VAT (total 9.00).

Lotting and online entry fee payable of 2 + vat (total 2.40) per lot

Charge for Stag accepting damage and loss liability of the item is set at 1.5% of the hammer price (or of the reserve price where a lot is unsold, subject to a minimum charge of 1.00 + vat per unsold lot). In the example above 1.5% plus vat of the 50 hammer price achieved would be 0.90.

So in this example the remittance to you approximately 3 weeks (15 working days) following the auction would be 50 less 9, less 2.40, less 1.00, leaving you with 37.60

Your items need to be with us asap to get the most viewings.

Stag Auctions is not authorised by the FSA to provide insurance to its clients, and does not do so. However, vendors may opt to ask us to assume damage and loss liability for property consigned to it at the reserve price until the hammer falls. To justify accepting this liability where asked to do so, Stag Auctions makes a charge of 1.5% of the hammer price plus vat (or the reserve if unsold), subject to a minimum charge of 1.00. All such charges will be deducted from your final statement and remittance and are subject to VAT.

Portable electrical items HAVE to bear in-date PAT test stickers before sale (or we have to remove the wiring), the Malt House offers a very reasonable electrician’s service to PAT test items, contact us for information. If we have to have items PAT tested for you the fee deducted from your remittance will be 3.50+vat per item.

We are based in the Cotswolds but have vendors from all of Europe.

We are very happy to try and collect your items - regardless of distance, we can agree an uplift charge with you.

Our own drivers cover much of the UK each month for larger items.

We also have trusted courier firms covering France and Belgium weekly.

We really can help with getting your goods to auction - and sold!

Items need to be available at the agreed address and at pavement level between 0830 and 1800 on the agreed week day, with someone available to help hand it over if it requires help to lift, as collectors will usually be one person.

Depending on the method used to get your items here, and their size etc the cost will vary but will always be very reasonable.

If we do not sell the item, we will either enter it into our next sale or return it to you at our own cost, whatever you prefer.
